چکیده

We derive a general theory for imaging by a flat lens without optical axis. We show that the condition for imaging requires a material having elliptic dispersion relations with negative group refraction. This medium is characterized by two intrinsic parameters sigma and kappa. Imaging can be achieved with both negative and positive wave vector refraction if sigma is a positive constant. The Veselago-Pendry lens is a special case with sigma = 1 and kappa = 0. A general law of refraction for anisotropic media is revealed. Realizations of the imaging conditions using anisotropic media and inhomogeneous media, particularly photonic crystals, are discussed. Numerical examples of imaging and requirements for sub-wavelength imaging are also presented.

Use of three-dimensional ultrasonography of the eye and measurement of optical long axis in dog

This study was conducted to determine the use of three-dimensional ultrasonography (3DU) in ocular imaging of the dog and measuring of its optical axis. 12 healthy mixed-breed dogs including 6 males and 6 females were studied. 3DU of the eyes were done using a 5–12 MHz linear trapezoid transducer. 3DU of the eyes were evaluated and the normal optical long axis through a line between the cornea ...

Negative Refraction and Imaging in Photonic Crystals

Negative refraction and left-handed electromagnetism in a photonic crystal are demonstrated in waveguide and free space experiments at microwave frequencies. Precision control to achieve tailor-made refractive indices has been achieved. The negative refraction in these photonic crystals is shown to lead to imaging by a flat lens. We have also developed a generalized theory of flat lens imaging....

Robot Motion Vision Part II: Implementation

The idea of Fixation introduced a direct method for general recovery of shape and motion from images without using either feature correspondence or optical flow [1,2]. There are some parameters which have important effects on the performance of fixation method. However, the theory of fixation does not say anything about the autonomous and correct choice of those parameters. This paper presents ...

Optical nanostructures in 2D for wide-diameter and broadband beam collimation.

Eliminating curved refracting lensing components used in conventional projection, imaging and sensing optical assemblies, is critical to enable compactness and miniaturisation of optical devices. A suitable means is replacing refracting lenses with two-dimensional optical media in flat-slab form, to achieve an equivalent optical result. One approach, which has been the focus of intense research...

اصلاح توام نقص ابیراهی لنز دوربین و خطای خروج از مرکز تصویر با بهره‌گیری از مدل اصلاح شده زرنیک

Reduction of the quality of the image formed by an optical system is a function of different parameters such as lens aberrations, CCD digitization errors, and the errors of system assembling. Assembling errors usually consist of two types: 1) the prism error, which is the error of non-orthogonality of the optical axis and the image plane 2) the de-centering error, which is error of not passing ...
